Real estate rundown ending March 5, 2021

Laura Marchant Williams was named company engagement and collaboration director at Marchant Real Estate Company.

In her new role, she is responsible for planning events, facilitating philanthropic engagement with local and national organizations to provide assistance and expertise, and creating opportunities for the Marchant team to mentor agents who are new to the business or the Greenville area.

Williams joined Marchant Real Estate Company in September as a licensed realtor and is a graduate of Converse College.

The Greater Greenville Association of Realtors announced a 29.2% decrease in active listings from 4,572 active residential listings in the multiple listing service on Feb. 10, 2020, to 3,238 as of Feb. 10, 2021.

While the number of listings are down, the average residential sales price has increased 6.5% from $355,476 in 2020 to $378,657 this year, and the median residential sales price has risen 2.6% from $263,143 to $269,900.

In addition, the average number of days on market has dropped by 22.4% from 107 to 83.

The GGAR also reported an increase in homes pending sale from 417 in February 2020 to 1050 this year as well as 1,494 units under contingency contract as of Feb. 10.
