Greenville real estate rundown week ending Jan. 29, 2021

Terrance Schemansky recently joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner Realtors as a sales associate in the company’s North Pleasantburg office. He has been a business owner since 1996 and specializes in marketing and promotion. Schemansky is a graduate of Western Michigan University.

Chase Poston recently joined Coldwell Banker Caine as a residential agent in its Greenville office. He is a Chapin, South Carolina, native who relocated to Greenville three years ago with experience in the service industry.

The Greater Greenville Association of Realtors announced a 25.7% decrease in active listings from 4,329 active residential listings in the multiple listing service on Jan. 10, 2020, to 3,218 as of Jan. 10, 2021.

While the number of listings are down, the average residential sales price has increased 7.3% from $354,204 in 2020 to $380,065 this year, and the median residential sales price has risen 4.2% from $259,007 to $269,900.

In addition, the average number of days on market has dropped by 11.8% from 110 to 97.

The GGAR also reported an increase in homes pending sale from 337 in January 2020 to 873 this year as well as 1,232 units under contingency contract as of Jan. 21.
